People behave like sheeps in a crowd. .
A new research performed by leeds university shows that people in crowd behave like sheep. The team conducted series of experiments in which volunteers were told to walk around a large hall without talking to each other, a selected few were later given more detailed instructions.
The results show that it takes a minority of just 5 per cent of what they called “informed individuals” to influence the direction of a crowd of a minimum of 200 people. The remaining herd of 95 per cent follow without realising it.
Now this research definately has many implications in the practical world and all that but apart from that isn’t it so astonishing, and i am sure everybody would feel that they already knew it subconsciously. Hasn’t it happened with all of us some time in public places or schools, colleges, public gatherings, concerts. Also many self help gurus have been saying that for a long time that people start following anyone who claims that he knows very easily as they want a short cut in evrything. Its very interesting to know dont you think. . .
I wonder if someone has also done a research about whether people behave like rats, that saying has bee there for a long time, will research about that.
ciao.
